LEWISBURG- Over the last few weeks, driving through Lewisburg may have felt and looked a little bit different.
Nothing major by any means, but eye catching, nonetheless.
New street signs were installed with the words “Historic District” across the top of the street name. Not only are the signs newer and more modern, but they now stand out even more at night to make travel a little easier for someone that may be unfamiliar with the area.
“They have High-Vis Reflectiveness which makes them stand out more at night when a cars headlights shine on them,” the City of Lewisburg’s Ryan Bostic said.
The quality of the signs is much better as well.
“They are on a 4-inch aluminum post, so they won’t rot. They are powder coated and much better looking,” Bostic said.
“The previous ones they replaced were on a 4-inch wood post that needed treated,” he added.
Bostic was adamant that the project was one that was in the ‘need’ category more than the ‘want.’
“It was something that needed done,” he said.
It is an upgrade that just needed to be done,” he finished.
If you haven’t already, take a quick glance at the new signage all around town.
