CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVDN) — For the first time in history, the American Bar Association (ABA) Family Law Section will host its national spring conference in the state of West Virginia. The prestigious event will take place at The Greenbrier Resort from Sunday evening, April 6, through Wednesday, April 9, and is expected to draw hundreds of top family law attorneys and legal professionals from across the United States.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, Charleston-based attorney Lyne Ranson will serve as National Chair of the ABA Family Law Section, making her the first West Virginia attorney ever to lead this national section of the ABA.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase West Virginia on a national stage,” said Ranson. “The Greenbrier is one of the most beautiful and historic venues in the country, and I’m thrilled that my colleagues from across the U.S. will get to experience everything our state has to offer.”
The conference will feature renowned national speakers and thought leaders in family law presenting on timely and critical issues including child custody, property valuation and division, trial strategies and assisted reproduction law. Attendees will also benefit from unique networking opportunities and the chance to collaborate with some of the top legal minds in the nation.
“This is also an unprecedented opportunity for West Virginia’s legal community,” said Ranson. “Thanks to the generosity of the Kanawha County Bench Bar Association, registration fees for West Virginia attorneys and judges have been cut in half, making this incredible learning and networking experience more accessible than ever.”
Beyond the conference sessions, attendees will enjoy a full slate of social events, including a Tuesday evening celebration featuring live music from local favorite ‘River Jam’, giving guests a taste of Appalachian culture and hospitality.
