PAW PAW, W.Va. (WVDN) – On Sunday, March 30, 2025, at approximately 4:18 p.m., Sr. Tpr. S. M. Ward and Cpl. D. A. Bowland responded to WV Route 29, South of Paw Paw, WV for a vehicle crash with reported entrapment and fatality. A Honda Civic was being driven by Noah Dean, a 23-year-old male from Fredericksburg, VA, and was traveling south on WV Route 29. Noah Dean lost control of his vehicle and crossed the center line into the northbound lane. Noah Dean’s vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a Toyota Tacoma, traveling North, being driven by Paul Joseph Byer, a 78-year-old male from Johnstown, PA.
Noah Dean was pronounced deceased at the scene, and Mr. Byer was transported by EMS due to injuries. The next of kin was notified.
