FAIRLEA- Last week, three Greenbrier East Lady Spartans were recognized for their play on the basketball court this season and were named as all-state selections.
Junior guard Kennedy Stewart and sophomore guard Ava Workman both landed on the Class AAA first team solidifying the fact that the Spartans backcourt is one of the state’s best and Hannah Fuller was named an honorable mention selection.
Stewart led the Lady Spartans in scoring at 18.3 points per game during the regular season. She shot 38 percent from 3-point range and 90 percent at the free throw line. She also had 4.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.7 steals.
Workman was second on the team in scoring at a 14.0 clip. She also grabbed 5.0 rebounds, dished out 2.5 assists, and led the team with 3.4 steals. Workman was named to the Class AAA all-tournament team in Charleston after the state tournament.
The girl in the middle, Fuller, who stands 6-feet-3-inches tall, scored 8.3 points per game, had 5.9 rebounds, and led the team with 1.3 blocks.
