Henry “Powell” Turner, Jr.
Henry “Powell” Turner, Jr., a beloved husband and stepfather, passed away Thursday, March 20th, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Powell was born in Baltimore, MD, on February 20, 1950, to Louise McPhearson and Henry Powell Turner, Sr., but was raised in Easton MD.
Powell lived a life marked by dedication to his family, friends, and his work and was known for his kindness, mischievous smile, and unwavering integrity. He was dearly loved by his wife, Anne (Anderson-Casserleigh) Turner.
Powell’s love for his family was evident in everything he did and knew no bounds. He was a caring husband, who could tease anyone back into a good mood; a loving stepfather to Tilde (Casserleigh) Fusco and Douglas Casserleigh; and a cherished grandfather to four step-grandchildren, Charleston, James, Miranda, and Hayden.
Outside of his professional life, Powell was an avid outdoorsman and any outdoor activity, loved history, and was truly passionate about music. He approached everything with the same enthusiasm and dedication that defined his life. Powell’s legacy of compassion, strength, and love will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Powell’s life will take place at St. James Episcopal Church, 468 Court Street, Lewisburg, WV, on April 5th, 2025, at 2 p.m.
