ALKON W.Va. (WVDN) – UPDATE: The man has been located and is being reunited with family.
According to the West Virginia State Police, “On Saturday, March 22, 2025, the victim, Teddy Canterberry (59-year-old male from Alkon, WV) who has a history of dementia was traveling from his home in Alkon, WV to North Carolina. The victim was traveling behind his uncle, Nathan Canterberry who was traveling in a separate vehicle. The victim was operating a Black 2016 Honda Fit WV registration 1WK263. Nathan lost track of the victims’ vehicle while traveling southbound on I-77 along mile marker 83 at approximately 12:00 pm. The victim did not have a cellphone. Nathan continued to North Carolina before contacting Cpl Borsman at approximately 8:30 pm. Cpl. Borsman had Turnpike dispatch place the victim and his vehicle into a silver alert status and BOLO (Be On Look Out).”
