WYOMING COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – One person has been arrested in relation to the theft of explosive material from a coal site in 2024. The West Virginia State Police released the following information:
“On Saturday, December 07, 2024, Cpl. Shifflette began an investigation on a theft of explosives at the Bluestone Coal Site 34 in Burke Mountain, Wyoming County.
“Upon completing his investigation, Cpl. M. C. Shifflette identified the suspect to be Garnett A. Rocchi (40-year-old male from Bluefield, WV).
“On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, Cpl. M. C. Shifflette located and arrested Garnett A. Rocchi on charges of being in possession of stolen explosives material.”
This investigation is still on going.
