MONROE COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – A 77-year-old man died in a fire early this morning near Peterstown, Monroe County.
The fire happened just before 3 a.m. this morning, March 18, at a house located on Seneca Trail South. One person was able to safely escape the house but the victim was unable to do so. A vehicle with attached camper was also damaged in the fire.
Investigators with the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office and have declared the cause of the fire as undetermined due to the severity of damage to the home.
The victim has been sent to the WV Medical Examiner’s Office in Charleston for positive identification and autopsy.
