ROMNEY W.Va. (WVDN) – Three individuals from Maryland, two of whom are convicted felons and fugitives in Maryland and Delaware, have been arrested after a Frontier Communication truck was stolen in Romney. The West Virginia State Police released the following information:
“On Saturday, March 1, 2025, Cpl. D. A. Bowland began an investigation into a Chevrolet 2500 Frontier Communications truck, stolen from Romney, WV. Follow up was conducted in Maryland and Pennsylvania after the vehicles GPS pinged near Bedford, PA.
“On Friday, March 7, 2025, Sr. Tpr. S. W. Rigsby received a complaint of a stolen GMC Sierra truck approximately .25 miles from the Stolen Frontier truck.
“On Saturday, March 8, 2025, Cpl. Bowland received a call from Cumberland, MD City Police, who had located the stolen GMC truck pulling a trailer stolen from Cumberland. The driver, Lindsey Teresi (30-year-old female from Cumberland, MD), was arrested and an unknown male passenger fled the scene in the stolen Frontier truck, pulling a trailer. The GMC truck was returned to the owner.
“On Sunday, March 9, 2025, Hampshire County Deputies were searching the area west of Romney and located the stolen Frontier Truck at a campground. Cpl. Bowland served a search warrant at the campground and located a stolen camper the two suspects, Johnathan Church (43-year-old male from Goldsboro, MD) and Jarel Schaefer (43-year-old male from Denton, MD), were staying in. Also located at the camp was a suspected stolen side-by-side, a suspected stolen trailer, generators, 11 firearms, including pistols, an illegal AR-15, and other rifles.
“Jarel Schaefer and Johnathan Church were convicted felons and fugitives from multiple agencies in Maryland and Delaware. They were arrested and charged with grand larceny, possession of stolen property, felon in possession of firearms, conspiracy, and fugitive from justice.
“The value of the recovered stolen items is approximately $70,000.
“The ATF and BCI has been contacted and will be assisting with the investigation.”
