ALDERSON W.Va. (WVDN) The Writers Station Open Mic will have its first reading of 2025 on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m., at the Alderson Train Depot, #1 Railroad Ave. Alderson. All genres of original work are accepted including poetry, fiction and nonfiction including essays and memoirs. Sign-up opens at 5:30 pm. All participants will have 3-5 minutes to read depending on the number of persons signing up. We are meeting the day after Valentine’s Day, so consider bringing your best romantic (or bitter) poetry, the first chapter of your romance novel or an essay pertinent to the holiday…or not! Readers need an audience so come and spend a couple of hours supporting the literary efforts of writers in the region.
