ALDERSON W.Va. (WVDN) – The Greenbrier County Family Support Center (GCFSC) has announced the relocation of its main office to the former Alderson Elementary School building. The center will occupy the front portion of the school, with its entrance at the main school building’s front office. The GCFSC opened its doors at the new Alderson location on Monday, Feb. 3, at 8:30 a.m.
While the main office is moving, the GCFSC will maintain a presence in Rupert one day a week, beginning the week of Feb. 10. Specific dates for services in Rupert will be announced soon. Events, support groups, and training will continue to be offered in the western end of the county.
“We are grateful to everyone on the west end,” said Lesley J. Toliver, director of the GCFSC in a Facebook post. “You welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like part of the community.” Toliver also expressed gratitude to the Marvel Center for their support.
The move is due to the center’s growing programs and the need for more space. “We will always continue to serve the west end and all of Greenbrier County,” Toliver said. “We have gotten to know so many wonderful people.”
Regular office hours in Alderson will be Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During the week of Feb. 3, however, office hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. due to staff training.
The GCFSC’s phone number, 304-920-0601, remains the same.
The GCFSC expressed its gratitude to the community and looks forward to offering new services and programs in the expanded space. The public is invited to visit the new Alderson location.
