LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – The Greenbrier East High School Spartan Band invites the community to a special benefit concert on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. at Greenbrier Valley Theatre, located at 1038 Washington St. E. in Lewisburg.
This evening of music will feature the talented student musicians of Greenbrier East High School as they perform to raise funds for their once-in-a-lifetime journey to Hawaii. The Spartan Band has been honored with an invitation to represent the state of West Virginia at the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Parade in December 2025, a prestigious event commemorating the sacrifices of those who served during World War II.
“We are incredibly honored to have been invited to perform at such an important event,” said Jim Allder, band director. “This is an extraordinary opportunity for our students to represent not only our school but the entire state of West Virginia on a national stage.”
The Greenbrier Valley Theatre, known as the State Professional Theatre of West Virginia, has generously partnered with the Spartan Band to host the benefit concert in their venue. Their support highlights the importance of community collaboration in making this journey possible.
Tickets for the concert are $15-$25 and are available at the door or throughhttps://bit.ly/PearlHarborSpartan
All proceeds will go toward travel expenses for the Spartan Band’s trip to Hawaii, ensuring these young musicians can participate in this significant event.
