SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVDN) — The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) announced today that it will be sponsoring the 37th annual West Virginia Hunting and Fishing Show in Charleston, which will take place at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center Jan. 24–26.
“We’re proud to sponsor an event that celebrates the heart of West Virginia’s outdoor heritage,” said WVDNR Director Brett McMillion. “The Hunting and Fishing Show brings together people of all experience levels to discover new gear, learn from experts and share the passion that makes our state the best place in the world to hunt and fish.”
WVDNR officials will open the show on Friday, Jan. 24 with a special ceremony announcing the winners of the 4th annual Big Buck Photo Contest. Special activities and attractions during the three-day event include a whitetail hall of fame, charity auction, youth outdoor challenge, outdoor apparel fashion show and a kid’s coloring contest with random drawings for a Cabela’s gift card. Tickets for adults 13 and up are $12 and may be purchased at chaswvccc.com. Kids 12 and under get in for free.
In addition to sponsoring the event, the WVDNR will also take orders for collectible license cards, which give hunters, trappers and anglers the option to carry a durable license. The collectible license cards are available as an optional upgrade for $8 per card. Proceeds support conservation awareness campaigns for the state’s fish and wildlife resources.
