“Mayor Beverly White and The City of Lewisburg announce with great sadness and heavy hearts, the passing of former Mayor John Manchester.
“Mayor Manchester passed away early this morning after battling a short illness. Mayor Manchester began his service to the community in 2001 as a member of the planning commission. He served on the City Council from 2001-2003 and was elected Mayor on July 1, 2003. He served as Mayor until his retirement on June 30, 2019. Mayor Manchester was very dedicated to his community and his service in beautification and sidewalks are a huge staple piece to our city.
“We send our sincere heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. Funeral arrangements are unknown at this time.”
