SUMMERS/MONROE COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – The Summers County Court Room was packed with supporters on Dec. 23, as Amy Mann took her oath of office as circuit court judge for Summers and Monroe counties.
Mann is the first female elected to the 30th Judicial Circuit and the first from Summers County since 1932. Her swearing in came one day after the tragic death of her husband, Michael Mann, and one day before the 20th birthday of their son, Ferrell.
Friends, family and community supporters were in attendance, to include her faithful companion and emotional support dog, Maya.
After swearing her in, Judge Irons gifted her a handmade gavel that his mother had made for him when he took office.
Mann will officially take office on Jan. 2, 2025.
