SUMMERSVILLE- The Greenbrier West Lady Cavaliers competed at the Winter Classic in Summersville this week and had to do so without the services of all-state performer Preslee Treadway.
Even though Maddie Fields, who had 13 points in the first half, stepped up in Treadway’s absence, the Cavs eventually suffered a 40-31 loss which ended up being a defensive battle as the game moved forward.
“We were without one of our best players, Preslee Treadway,” Fields said after the game.
When we were at practice last week, we didn’t expect her not to be here today,” she added.
