SPRINGS W.Va. (WVDN) – The historic St. John, the Evangelist, Catholic Church at the intersection of WV 3 and VA/WV 311 in Sweet Springs will be the site for the daily Mass on Dec.27 to commemorate the Patronal Feast Day of St. John, the Evangelist and Apostle.
Monsignor Kevin M. Quirk, pastor of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in White Sulphur Springs and St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ronceverte, will officiate at the Mass at 6 p.m. Friday.
In making the announcement, Msgr. Quirk recommended that cold weather clothing be appropriate as there is no central heating in the Church.

St. John’s Church is the only Catholic Church in Monroe Count and is the oldest Catholic Church in WV still in use, have been established by 1839.
