RAINELLE W.Va. (WVDN) – Benjamin Ray Hamrick, 44, of Green Sulphur Springs was arrested following an investigation into a theft in Rainelle.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim reported the theft of several items on Nov. 12. The document also states that the victim noted finding one of the stolen items, a large, Craftsman air compressor, valued at $450, in a local pawn shop.
Police visited the pawn shop where staff provided the pawn ticket, which listed Hamrick as the pawner. Police obtained a recorded statement from Hamrick in which he allegedly confessed to having stolen the items.
Hamrick was subsequently arrested and was booked into Southern Regional Jail on Dec. 13. He is being held on a $12,000 bond.
