BECKLEY W.Va. (WVDN) – The West Virginia Hive Network invites the community to attend its Annual Open House and Awards Ceremony from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the Historic Black Knight Conference Center in Beckley. There is no cost to attend and registration is not required.
This year’s ceremony will feature awards in 11 categories, recognizing outstanding achievements. Bill Woodrum, Senior Program Officer at the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, will deliver keynote remarks. He leads community and economic development initiatives throughout West Virginia and has been helpful on many projects in the New River Gorge region.
Judy Moore, Executive Director of the WV Hive and deputy director of its parent organization – the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority – described the event as “a celebration of our clients and partners and the perfect opportunity to support local entrepreneurs. From handcrafted goods to innovative offerings, attendees will have the chance to shop and directly support WV Hive clients who will be selling their unique products at the event. In addition, enjoy the awards ceremony and connect with other business professionals as we honor the achievements of our entrepreneurial community.”

Woodrum has been working to advance community and economic development initiatives in West Virginia for the past 30 years. His diverse career spans work in systems-building, fund development, small business development, technology transfer, extension programs, and agriculture. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Marshall University and his Master of Science from The Ohio State University.
