GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – The Greenbrier County Commission met in regular session on Nov. 12. The meeting opened with the prelude and pledge. The meeting was then called to order and minutes from the last meeting were approved.
Settlement for 13 estates was approved along with the arts and recs transfers and budget revisions.
The tower assistance fund grant application to the Public Service Commission needs a letter of support. Financial support is needed for the new tower at Muddy Creek.
The lease agreement with AT&T Mobility was tabled indefinitely on the lease agreement for 1004 Skyline Drive Rainelle, WV lease. The lease agreement terms need to be received.
A motion was made and passed to approve sending the financial report for the fiscal year June 2023 – June 2024.
Under new business, no bids have been received for the project to put concrete at the courthouse, sidewalks and fence.
There was consideration and approval of Operation Green Light for Veterans. The Commissioners signed a resolution honoring Veterans and gave a copy to each of the two Veterans in attendance. Each veteran was given A chance to introduce themselves and speak.
The Rt. 60 E. sewer replacement project had two items being paid as did the White Sulphur Springs wastewater plant. The White Sulphur Springs project was for engineering and design as it’s still in that stage.
The Gig Ready Broadband project was approved. The Commission is purchasing a license for emergency communications.
The commission voted to extend the cable franchise agreement by five years and change the 3% paid to 5%.
A new hire was taken on at the Greenbrier County 911 center.
