Johnny Irvin Nolen
Johnny Irvin Nolen, 87, of Lewisburg, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, surrounded by loving family.
Born on June 17, 1937, he was the son of the late Joe and Elsie Nolen of Williamsburg, WV.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Jean Nolen Hanson.
Johnny worked for 49 years at Greenbrier Motors in Fairlea, during which time, he became a friendly face to many in the community. Throughout his life, he maintained a love for sports, and many will fondly remember him sporting his headphones, while being regaled by the latest games.
His attention to detail and dedication in life was not only apparent in his work and in his hobbies, but also in his marriage of 68 years to his beloved wife, Martha, and the beautiful home they curated together over many years. Johnny deeply loved his homeplace on the family farm in Williamsburg and devoted himself to its attention and upkeep for many years so that his family could have a home away from home and a place to create lifetime memories.
Left to cherish his memory in addition to his wife, Martha, are his sister, Patricia Molvig (Roar) of Leesburg, FL; nieces and nephews, Greg Hanson (Linda) of Heathsville, VA, Mike Hanson (Cathie) of Panama City, FL, Lynn Sprouse (Debbie) of Rockingham VA, Doug Sprouse (Katrina) of Ronceverte, WV, Bill Gumm (Kay) of Smoot, WV, Linda Jean Pauley of Charleston, WV; great-nieces and nephews; and several great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
Services will be held at Wallace & Wallace Memorial Mausoleum Chapel in Clintonville on Wednesday, November 13th, at 1 p.m. with a viewing an hour prior at noon.
