WEST VIRGINIA (WVDN) – The West Virginia Farmers Market Association (WVFMA) is pleased to announce the recipients of the WVFMA 2024 Mini-Grant Program, funded by the West Virginia Department of Agriculture. This year’s program drew significant interest, with 43 applications submitted, totaling more than $194,000 in funding requests. Fourteen farmers markets across the state were awarded a combined $51,052 in funding to support a variety of critical enhancements and operational improvements.
Our 2024 WVFMA Mini-Grant Awardees represent the diversity of West Virginia’s agricultural landscape, from long-established traditional farmers’ markets to new, small markets, mobile operations, and on-farm stands. These markets offer diverse products, including produce, meats, value-added products, herbs, and flowers. We are pleased to share that 11 projects received full funding, while three others were granted partial awards.
