ALDERSON- On Friday, Nov. 1, some Alderson Elementary staff–the Brains– played in a charity basketball game against police officers from the Lewisburg Police Department–the Badges.
The game was part of the grand opening of the new Elementary School.
After some hard-fought back-and-forth play, it was the Brains that walked away winners 59-39 after a lot of smiles and sportsmanship.
The teachers that participated were Andrea Sloan, Jason Ward, Tanner McCallister, Katie Scruggs, Haylee Shires, Autumn Dolin, Darrell Pilson, Carter Shearer, and Matt Tabor.
For the officers, it was Jonathan Cosby, Gideon Tate, Todd Williams, Sheldon Simmons, and Jacob Thomas.
All participants gave a special thank you to Eddie Bowyer for refereeing the contest.
