LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – It was a gloriously, sunny, fall day at the Lewisburg Farm Market with a myriad of services and goodies to snatch up. Local farmers, artisans and WVSOM student doctors were just a few of the things you could find at the market last Saturday. Setting up in the RCBC (Robert C. Byrd Clinic) parking lot until their last Saturday in October, the artisans will have a new winter home so you can still delight in the finds during the early winter months.
On this beautiful Saturday, visitors found homegrown watermelons, poblano peppers, various peppers galore, radishes, tomatoes, beans, gourds, jack-o-lanterns and more. Also available were whole local chickens, local beef, goat and pork. It’s wonderful to know that the community has a plethora of healthy local choices. Some bakers joined as well with warm cinnamon rolls, various bagels, breads, jams and jellies, as well as natural CBD.
The Greenbrier Valley is home to amazing youth programs like FFA (Future Farmers of America) and 4-H that will carry on the traditions of farming and natural living. In today’s world, that’s pure gold.
Artisans can also be found at the market. Jewelry, woodturning, baked goods and even a pop-up doctor’s office where O’ School students were checking blood pressure and offering sage advice on controlling it. Dr. Dina Schaper, DO was also present to help guide the event for them.
The new winter market will find a cozy new home, inside The Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company, located on 219 North, near the airport. You can shop for goodies, meats, produce, and more and stay for lunch and a killer brew all in the same day! You may well find some awesome music to wind down your day with. The Brewery, Joshua, Jason, Dave and the whole team always have something great going on so save the dates! Tell your friends and family and make a day of it.
The new winter market will be held on Saturdays throughout November and December. The dates are November 2, 9,16, 23 and 30; December, 7, 14 and 21. You will still have time to visit outdoors throughout October.
