Please vote for the WV Daily News Greenbrier East and Greenbrier West ‘Football Friday’ Players of the Week for week 6 of the 2024 High School football season. Three Spartans and three Cavaliers are listed together. We will take the top vote getter from each school and announce the winners on Monday nights (time may vary week-to-week). Again, there will be a winner from each school. Voting this week closes Monday, October 7, 2024, at 9:00 PM.

Nominees:

Greenbrier East (defeated Shady Spring 34-21):

Brady May: 25 carries, 125 yds, 4 TDs– also played well on defense

Brayden Brown: Everywhere on defense, seemed like he was in on every tackle

Gbr East Offensive Line: the offensive line controlled the game and helped pave the way for 363 total yards. They consistently won at the point of attack and owned the trenches

Greenbrier West (lost to Fort Frye, OH 27-0):

CW Sturgell: Moved from fullback to right tackle to help his team and played well. Also subbed in to punt and boomed a 48-yarder

Bradley Hodge: 5 tackles, 2 assisted on defense

Brandon Poticher: 19 carries, 75 yards–4 tackles–blocked extra point
