GREENBRIER VALLEY W.Va. (WVDN) – Community leaders and supporters celebrated the launch of the United Way of Greenbrier Valley’s 2024/2025 Campaign at The Schoolhouse Hotel, on Thursday evening. Nine new Young Leaders from The Greenbrier Valley were chosen to lead this year’s efforts to raise funds for people in need throughout our community. “The Kick-off event highlights the achievements of our Young Leaders, and the generosity of our Tocqueville Society Members,” states The United Way of Greenbrier Valley’s executive director, Lauren Rainier. Kayleigh Tobias led the charge by raising $49,400 in donations during the 2023/24 campaign and was awarded a plaque at the private event.

This year’s Young Leaders include Andrew Payne, Dr. Jesse Chaffin, Mary Katherine Tuckwiller, Van James, Missy Boggs, Clair Rose, Dr. Savannah Long, Lillie King, and Ben Anderson.

“Last year’s campaign raised nearly $800,000 in donations from generous donors, and this year, with the continued leadership of campaign chairs, Warren and Margaret May, The United Way of Greenbrier Valley anticipates reaching further heights,” Rainier adds. In 2023, alone, The United Way impacted nearly 115,000 lives within the greater Greenbrier Valley.

To pledge a tax-deductible donation to The United Way of Greenbrier Valley, you may do so on their website at Unitedwaygreenbrier.org, or by participating in any of their annual fundraising events, including The Chocolate Festival and Empty Bowls, to name a few.

The United Way of Greenbrier Valley was founded in 1986 and is focused on implementing strategies to successfully impact Greenbrier, Monroe and Pocahontas Valley residents in the areas of health, education, and basic needs. Through grants and private support, The United Way of Greenbrier Valley supports local organizations serving these counties.
