WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS W.Va. (WVDN) – Former bank branch manager turned insurance broker Cory Megginson has launched a new business in Greenbrier County. “I am based in White Sulphur Springs, but I travel all throughout West Virginia,” Megginson says. With the addition of Megginson Insurance Agency to the insurance market, Megginson believes that making house calls will give him an edge over the competition. “I currently work remotely, which means I can sell insurance over the phone and I also go to people’s homes,” he says.
With Medicare and Medicaid Advantage plans, life and health insurance, prescription drug plans and Medicare supplements, Megginson not only offers a variety of coverage options but also believes in creating awareness throughout the state. “I go to food pantries, senior events, bingo, ice cream socials and anywhere there is people,” he says. “I try to create awareness and educate people wherever I go.” As a volunteer at food pantries, Cory Megginson strives to help people in their time of need. Whether it’s through the distribution channel at food banks or attending social events, this West Virginia native believes in giving back to his community.
When asked to reveal something about insurance that people may be surprised to learn, Megginson was quick to respond. “Most people don’t know that there is a benefit card for Medicare and Medicaid recipients that is not just a food card, but can also serve as a means for some to have their utility bills paid, gasoline for their car, over the counter prescription coverage and in some cases even having their rent or mortgage paid,” he says. “Everyone can also get dental insurance, and I really like helping people get their smile back,” Megginson adds.
