Rainelle, WVa. (WVDN) – On Sunday, August 04, 2024, at approximately 12:27 pm., members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a shooting that occurred in the Rainelle area of Greenbrier County. A property dispute, involving three individuals, resulted in one of the individuals, identified as Travis Osborne, age 46 of Rainelle, receiving gunshot injuries. Mr. Osborne was transported to an out of the area medical facility where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Team processed the scene. On scene assistance was provided by the West Virginia State Police and Greenbrier County EMS.
The Sheriff’s Department has been in consultation with the Greenbrier County Prosecuting Attorney and the results of the investigation will be submitted to that office.
