CHARMCO- Football is upon us and with that comes preseason hype and predictions. At Greenbrier West, linebacker C.W. Sturgell was named as a Class A player to watch in the state of West Virginia by the website Coalfields.org last week.
They had this to say about Sturgell:
“The Cavaliers have proven year-in and year-out to be able to replace large and successful graduating classes. They will need to do the same in 2024. One proven player that returns is CW Sturgell, a hard-nosed middle linebacker that seemingly caused havoc in all regards. He has a solid ability to clog the box but is also effective in pass coverage. It would not be surprising to see him become a common presence in their rushing attack as a senior.”
Sturgell and the Cavaliers open their 2024 season at Pendleton County on Aug. 30.
