Neil Earl Clendenen of Wellsville, PA, went home on Sunday, May 5, 2019, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born in Ronceverte, WV, on March 11, 1964.
Neil proudly served in the United States Air Force, both active and reserve. He served in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm (1990-1992) and was deployed to Afghanistan (2011-2012).
Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Clifton and Mary Edith Gabbert Clendenen; and brother, Michael Leroy Clendenen, all of Auto, WV.
Neil is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Rita McMillion Clendenen; children, Carrie Shaffer (Amber) of Dillsburg, PA, MaKenna Clendenen (Josh Petersen) of Morgantown, WV, and Clifton Clendenen of the home; grandsons, Jakeb DeHart and Trey Shaffer of Dillsburg; siblings, Steve Clendenen (Marietta Lyall) of Lewisburg, WV, Lois McCutcheon (Darrell) of Renick, WV, and children, Natasha Bostic and Bruce McCutcheon; Pat Clendenen of Caldwell, WV, and son, Patrick Clendenen, Nancy Nathanson (Harlan) of Frederick, MD, Boyd (Jenny) of Airville, PA, and children, Tristan, Makayla, Cody, and Kendall; and Mary Donohue (Tim) of Pompano Beach, FL; and Mike’s children, Missy Parker, Alexis Bostic, and Keith Clendenen. He is also survived by his parents-in-law, William (Bill) and Karen Workman McMillion of Auto; and brothers-in-law, John McMillion (Tina) of Huddleston, VA, and Jeff McMillion of Auto.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Woodland Community Church in Auto, with graveside service following. The Rev. Stuart Farley will be officiating.
