FAIRLEA- Former Greenbrier East Spartan softball star Lily Carola announced via Facebook on Thursday that she has committed to continue her softball career at Patrick & Henry Community College in Martinsville, Virginia. The Patriots just won the NJCAA D-III world series title in May of this year.

Carola put together quite a senior season for the Lady Spartans that saw her receive all-tournament team honors for her performance at the state tournament and she also was named honorable mention all-state. At the plate this past year, Carola hit .357 with 13 doubles, two home runs, and 29 RBIs. On the mound, she excelled as well with a 5-5 record. She threw 83.1 innings, gave up just 64 hits, and had 113 strikeouts. Her ERA was 2.18.

Carola had this to say about her future college choice:

“I am very blessed to announce that I will be continuing my education and my softball career at Patrick & Henry Community College. I want to thank God, my family, and all my coaches for helping me get here and I want to thank coach Campbell for giving me the opportunity.”
#gopats.

Carola will suit up for the defending national champions this coming spring of 2025.
