CHARLESTON W.Va. (WVDN) – “Bring Them Home” is an upcoming documentary series telling the story of West Virginia’s 17 Vietnam War veterans still Missing in Action (MIA) in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. The series is being produced by Lost Valley Studios and distributed by Burning Bulb Publishing, both West Virginia-based companies.
The Lost Valley Studios research team is currently seeking assistance from the public to locate family members, friends, and unit members of these veterans who can help them better tell their stories. The team has contacted many already, but if anyone can help contact additional folks who knew these veterans before they went MIA during the Vietnam War, please email lostvalleystudios@gmail.com or call 805-588-6999. The goal is to tell these veterans’ stories because they never got to come home to tell it themselves, and they hope to inspire additional support in the ongoing efforts to BRING THEM HOME.
The series is planned to premiere on or near April 30, 2025 – in memorial of the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. The first episode of the series “Sabre 56” will tell the story of Sergeant Major (SGM) Joe Pringle, told through interviews with his son Fred, MIA experts and researchers, reenactments of the events leading up to him becoming MIA, footage from his last known location in Vietnam and more. SGM Pringle’s UH-1 “Huey” with callsign “Sabre 56” went down 12 miles north of Da Nang, Vietnam in February of 1968. The helicopter wreckage was later found but SGM Pringle and the other crew members have never been recovered or seen again. “Sabre 56” will have theatrical screenings at multiple theaters around West Virginia and the tri-state region.
The stories of the other 16 veterans will be released monthly after the first episode. Stay tuned to the Lost Valley Studios Facebook page found HERE for details about watching the premiere in person and how to stream the series online. Fifty percent of all theatrical and streaming revenue for the series will be donated in perpetuity to the National League of POW/MIA Families, the Vietnam Veterans of America, and the Gold Star Mothers.
