Juanita Jane Wickline Allen, age 90, of Alderson, WV, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA, following a long illness.

Born December 23, 1933, at Fort Spring, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Arritt and Georgie Mildred Carter Wickline. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Lewis Harold Allen; and one brother, Clyde Milton Wickline.

Mrs. Allen was a homemaker and seamstress, having worked at Pence Springs Manufacturing and Kellwood Manufacturing. She attended Ronceverte High School and was a devout member of the Alderson Church of the Nazarene on Muddy Creek Mountain, Alderson. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and watching game shows on television. Mrs. Allen’s greatest joy was being a homemaker and taking care of her family and friends. She loved babysitting her grandchildren, enjoyed doing special things for her family, and loved to cook for her family and friends, especially Sunday dinners. Mrs. Allen loved her family and will always be remembered for being the devoted mother, grandmother, and natural caregiver that she was.

Survivors include two daughters, Sue Ann Bennett and her husband, Ray, of Alderson, and Mildred “Millie” Tallman and her husband, Kenny, of Alderson; one brother, Tommy Wickline and his wife, Becky, of Beckwith, WV; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Rudisill of Pence Springs, WV; four grandchildren, Tara Freeman and her husband, Mike, of Alderson, Jason McCallister and his wife, Shawna, of Lewisburg, WV, Lori Bennett of Portland, OR, and Aaron Bennett of Alderson; five great-grandchildren, Autumn Palmer and her husband, Heath, of Rupert, WV, Dylan Carter and his fiancée, Kylie Sams, of Alderson, Gabriel Carter of Alderson, Skyler McCallister of Athens, WV, and Joel McCallister of Lewisburg; one great-great-grandson, Ridge Carter of Alderson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Alderson Church of the Nazarene, Muddy Creek Mountain, Alderson, with Pastor Mark Prator and the Rev. Ed Midcap officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Vernon Cemetery at Fort Spring, WV. Friends may call Friday, March 1, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Lobban Funeral Home in Alderson and one hour prior to services at the Church on Saturday.
