Dr. Christopher Owen Lockhart, age 46, of Owings Mills, MD, passed away suddenly in his home on June 4, 2018.
Chris was born in Mansfield, OH, on August 7, 1971, to Barbara Lee Hatfield Lockhart and Walter Merrell Lockhart.
Chris graduated from Greenbrier East High School in 1989 and from Alderson Broaddus in May of 1993 with a Bachelor of Science. He went on to receive a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from The University of Nebraska and a PhD from Nova Southeastern University. Chris was a physician’s assistant in occupational medicine in the Baltimore area for over 24 years. He was employed at Con-centra at the time of his death. Chris dedicated his life to helping others.
Chris was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Barbara Lee Hatfield Lockhart, as well as his maternal grandparents, Leman and Hilda Hatfield; paternal grandparents, William and Dellitt Lockhart; and a special uncle (whom he resembled), Carl “Hattie” Hatfield.
Chris is survived by his father, Walter Lockhart of Lewisburg, WV; brother, David Lockhart (wife, Beth) of Wilmington, NC; sisters, Kimberly Snyder (husband, Brett) of Staunton, VA; Karen Lockhart of Lewisburg; Donita Heller (husband, John) of Kaysville, UT; and Deedee Partridge (husband, Jason) of Eagle Mountain, UT. He is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 16, at 1 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in White Sulphur Springs, WV.
The family will receive guests following the celebration at the home of Karen Lockhart.
