MORGANTOWN, WV- Former WVU offensive lineman and television/radio personality Dale Wolfley passed away in his sleep on Saturday evening, Oct. 7.
Wolfley was adored by many in the WVU circle and his segment on the Mountaineer Sports Network and ‘Gold and Blue Nation’ preview shows would end with him saying his trademarked, “BOOM” at the end of each show.
Wolfley played at WVU and graduated in 1990. His two brothers, Ron and Craig also were football stars in their playing days. Ron played at WVU from 1981-84 and played 10 years in the NFL. Craig played his collegiate ball at Syracuse then went to the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Minnesota Vikings.
The Wolfley name is one the more recognizable names around the WVU football program.
