GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – According to recent reports, a Greenbrier County man, John David Long, 51, has been sentenced in an incest case involving him and his daughter.
Long pleaded guilty to three counts of incest and received a sentence of 10 to 30 years in prison. According to quotes from the Greenbrier County Prosecuting Attorney, Patrick Via, once Long’s prison sentence is complete, he will serve another 5-15 years on home confinement. At the end of the home confinement stint, Long then faces 25 years of state-mandated supervision. Additionally, he will remain on the sex offender registry for the duration of his life.
Initial reports from 2022 state that Long’s daughter, Jessica Offenberger, 29 at the time, was also arrested. Allegedly, Offenberger stated the two had sex 88 times between 2019 and 2022 and that each encounter was consensual. Long reportedly corroborated this with his statement. It is unknown to The West Virginia Daily News at the time of writing whether or not Offenberger has been sentenced.
