LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) – Greenbrier County’s best high school athletes were honored tonight at The West Virginia Daily News Sports Awards Ceremony Carnegie Hall.

Local athletes received over 14,000 votes on the West Virginia Daily News website during our month-long poll. 

Gov. Jim Justice delivered remarks to the crowd of student athlete and their parents, congratulating all of them on their recognition from the community.

”You can’t imagine all the things sports will teach you in your life,” he told the crowd of high schoolers. 

”Life is not a race,” he said. “It’s a maze, and the test of your mettle is what you’re going to do when you hit that wall.”

“Now,” he said, “Go out, and make us proud.”

The overall People’s Choice girls’ winner is Dia Sauvage, and the boys’ winner is Adam Seams.
