Robert Eugene Williams
Robert Eugene Williams, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Lindside on Sunday, April 16, 2023. Born July 1, 1943, in Greenbrier County, WV, he was the son of the late Lester Arthur and Lula Belle Kersey Williams.
Robert was originally from Route 92 in White Sulphur Springs and worked in carpentry and masonry at The Greenbrier hotel for 45 years until his retirement. He loved his animals and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Michelle Williams; and great-grandson, Hunter Walton. Robert is also preceded in death by two sisters, Donnalee Furry and Thelma May; and two brothers, Carl and Glen Williams.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ruth McMahan Williams; son, Mark Williams and wife, Tina, of Lindside, WV; daughter, Melissa Williams of Ronceverte, WV; grandchildren, Courtney Risoli and Jimmy of New Jersey, Latasha White “Josha” of Lindside, Cheyenne Wiggan and Keneil of Roanoke, VA, Brittany Walton and fiancé, Shannon Bowman, of Bluefield, VA, Whitney Coles of Ohio, Brett Haynes of Beckley, and Levi Spence and Seth Pritt, both of Ronceverte, WV; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, Kennie Williams and Faye of Mt. Airy, NC, Tommy Williams and Patricia of Princeton, WV; sisters, Marie Maupin of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Bonnie Foley of Greenville, PA; and special niece, Crystal Maupin.
In keeping with Robert’s wishes, he will be cremated with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
