Desteney Walker is a third baseman for the Greenbrier West Lady Cavaliers and another big piece to the team puzzle. The Lady Cavs are ranked third in Class A and are steamrolling their opponents. Walker possesses a good bat at the plate and a strong defensive prowess in the field and is an extraordinary leader on and off the field.
What head coach Tony Hinkle Said:
“Desteney has done a terrific job. She has been a 3-year starter on the left side of our defense. My biggest memory with her was last year at the sectional final against Midland Trail, when she hit a grand slam in the top of the seventh inning. We were down 3-0 and she put us in the lead at 4-3, and we held on. That was a big moment for her and a great moment for West. She is a good kid, very fun to be around and kind of a silent leader. She is one of those kids that is a pleasure to coach,” Hinkle said.
