Marshall Jackson Webb, 88, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at White Sulphur Springs Family Care Center following a short illness.

Born July 26, 1928, at White Sulphur Springs, he was a son of Charles Edwin and Jesse Margaret Webb.

Marshall grew up in Glace, WV, and left Monroe County, WV, to serve on a minesweeper in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He and his family then resided in Union, WV. After his service with the Navy, he enrolled in barber school and graduated in 1949 from Moler Barber College in Wheeling, WV. He and Norma Adkins married in 1949. He barbered in Lewisburg, WV, and Bluefield, WV, before setting up his own shop in White Sulphur Springs, where he worked for 35 years. He made many friends through his profession and had a good sense of humor. Marshall regularly attended and supported Emmanuel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, reading, and watching NASCAR races.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles Webb; wife, Norma June Adkins Webb; daughter, Carol Webb Heath; brother, Edwin Posey Webb; sister, Kathy Webb Patton; and granddaughter, Tracy Boggs White.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary L. Morris and husband, Jeff, of White Sulphur Springs; granddaughter, Holly N. Morris and husband, Alan Shipley, of White Sulphur Springs; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Ohio; and three nieces and their children who live locally.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Sunday, September 11, 2016, at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs with Pastor Shari Dawn Stilgenbauer and Ed Vallandingham officiating following church services.
