Dewey Roscoe Sears, 81, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015, at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV.
He was born May 2, 1934, at Blue Sulphur Springs, WV, a son of William John and Sadie Ardell Jackson Sears.
Mr. Sears was retired from the brass shop at The Greenbrier hotel in White Sulphur Springs, WV, and was a member of Laurel Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gaylene Zimmerman.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie “Evelyn” Tincher Sears; a daughter, Dreama Higgs and husband, Michael, of Dothan, AL; two sons, Franklin Sears of Lewisburg and Allen Sears of Shady Spring, WV; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Sears of Shady Spring; grandchildren, Michael Higgs and wife, Linsey, of Dothan, Valerie Long of Baltimore, MD, Kip Sears of Lewisburg, Nicole Higgs of Port Saint John, FL, and Jordan Sears, Denver Sears, and Brooklyn Sears, all of Shady Spring; great-grandchildren, Brantle Higgs, Blake Griffith, Lacey Jennings, Kali Jennings, Bryce Sears, and Cadence Sears; two sisters, Marie Loudermilk of Clintonville, WV, and Rosalie Edna Hedrick and husband, James, of Roanoke, VA; and two brothers, Carl Sears and Larry Sears and wife, Kathy, all of Lewisburg.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at 1 PM at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with the Rev. Melvin Wills officiating. Interment will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home in Lewisburg.
