White Sulphur Lions Participate In Veterans' Day Parade

The Lions of White Sulphur Springs honored the Veterans on November 11 by participating in the parade down main street in White Sulphur. Those involved included Mary Ann Hensley, Dorothy Harbaugh, Venise LaGrande, Betty Gillespie, and Jim Miller (in Lions’ costume). Lion President Mary Lee Buckland was one of the parade announcers.

The Lions remain very active in the community. They continue to purchase eyeglasses for those who cannot afford them, regularly collect and donate food items for the local food pantry, sponsor blood drives, participate in Adopt a Highway, and soon will be giving away a deer rifle for their annual raffle. Tickets are still being sold near Food Lion. This, and other fundraisers provide dollars to help serve throughout the area.

The Lions meet at the Episcopal Church (near the library) each second and fourth Monday at 7:00. Contact any club member to learn more.
