Peterstown — The Peterstown Council meeting will be held at Town Hall at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23.

Marlinton — The town of Marlinton is hiring for the position of full-time, Class II Water Plant Operator. Applications are available at the Marlinton Town Office located at 709 Second Avenue. Applications may also be obtained by emailing townofmarlinton@frontiernet.net or calling 304-799-4315. All resumes and applications must be received no later than Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 4 p.m.

Rainelle — The Rainelle Pool has now closed for the season.

Lewisburg — Free COVID-19 testing is available Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the free parking lot at the West Virginia State Fair Grounds. Testing is being held near the handicapped parking area.
The Greenbrier County Public Library has new hours of operation. Sunday through Monday is now 1 – 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Improvements continue at Hollowell Park. The construction of the new restrooms and announcer’s booth is almost complete. Dugouts for softball have also almost been completed.

Alderson — The Town Council held a special meeting Monday, Sept. 20 at 7:30. The location of this meeting was changed to the Alderson Community Center.

Greenbrier County — The Greenbrier County Board of Health has issued an indoor mask mandate for the entire county. Questions regarding this mandate are currently being directed to the Greenbrier County Health Department. The department can be reached by calling 304-645-1787.
