Justin Dale “JD” Hanna passed away on February 20, 2022 at Lewis Gale Hospital Allegheny in Low Moor, VA after suffering a short illness.
Justin was born on July 15, 1961 and was proud to inform others that he was born in Farmington, New Mexico just outside of a Navajo Reservation that was near the Four Corners Region of the United States.
Justin was born to Susie Madeline Brown Hanna and Bernard William “Bunn” Hanna. Justin liked to go by “JD” and always introduced himself as “JD.” His family called him Justin.
Justin was employed by David L Ryder Logging in White Sulphur Springs, WV and prior to that by Carolina Southern in High Point, NC. There were several in between driving jobs, but these were his favorite jobs.
Justin was a man who loved driving a truck. His saying to others about driving a truck was, “You can go slow all you want, but you will only go fast once.”
Justin had a big heart and would do anything for others. He loved children, as well, and loved to make them smile and laugh. He knew just about everyone around and could pinpoint their family lineage just by looking at them. As Justin would say, “I lived on both sides of the mountain,” referring to Greenbrier County and Pocahontas County, which resulted in Justin knowing so many people.
Justin loved his WVU Mountaineer football games and basketball games. He was also a history buff and could recount many historical facts about Greenbrier County and Pocahontas County.
Justin was truly a mountain man, because his memory of family lore was amazing.
Justin will be missed by all the people he knew, especially his wife.
Justin was preceded in death by both of his parents; his brothers, John Paul Hanna, James Carl Hanna, Jack Kyle Hanna; and many more relatives who were waiting on him to come home. Justin is now at peace and rejoicing with his family in God’s better place.
Those who have been left behind to mourn his loss are his loving wife, Maria, whom he commonly referred to as “short legs,” “ju-girl,” and “baby doll”. Justin and Maria had a special bond which has been severed.
He also has left behind a brother, Jeff Hanna (Esther) of Richwood, WV; a brother Joseph “Joe” Hanna (Linda) of Hillsboro, WV; and a sister, Jocelyn Hanna of Frankford, WV; his nephews, Josiah Hanna and Joseph “JW” Hanna, Jeffery Lee Hanna, Brian Hanna, Kevin Hanna; and a niece, Lucinda Hanna; along with several great-nephews and nieces.
Justin was a great man, and the family would like you to remember him with prayers and wonderful memories.
