Barbara Sue Hill died peacefully at the age of 89 on November 15, 2021 at The Peyton House in Lewisburg, WV. Barbara was affectionately called “Babs” by many who knew and loved her. She was born on March 11, 1932 in Prenter, WV.

After marrying Don at the age of 22, Barbara traveled extensively as an Army wife and enjoyed making many lifelong friends along the way. She was known for her warm hospitality and a welcoming smile for everyone she met. Upon military retirement, Don and Barbara settled on their farm in Greenbrier County, at Dawson, WV, and she loved her life in West Virginia.
Barbara worked at Kellwood Industries and cooked part-time at Smoot Elementary School, before being employed as a secretary for Princess Beverly Coal Company for several years. She also worked for a time at family-owned Mountain Flying Service.
Barbara was a member of the Rupert Community Educational Outreach Services and will be missed by her friends within the CEOS. She was currently a resident of the Bayberry Retirement Inn in Beckley, WV, where the staff and new friends at Bayberry were wonderful to her.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Greenbrier Valley Hospice and The Peyton House. We are so grateful for the comfort and compassionate care the staff and nurses gave to Barbara in her time of need.
