A Fayette County couple has been arrested and is facing multiple charges. Angela Dawn Webster, 36 and Craig Allen Webster of Mount Hope were arrested on February 23, 2021, on multiple charges.
Police officers were dispatched by Fayette County 911 to Mount Hope for a shooting incident on December 17 of 2020 at around 9 p.m.
According to the criminal complaint, when officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a juvenile victim with a gunshot wound to the head. While there, another juvenile entered the room holding a .40 caliber handgun. An officer secured the gun and the juvenile stated that their friend had accidentally shot the victim with that firearm.
The criminal complaint further states that officers asked Angela Webster to sign a consent form so that they could search the residence for evidence related to the shooting. During this search, officers discovered “three large balls of a white powdery substance consistent with heroin.”
According to the criminal complaint, officers stopped the search at this time so that they could obtain a search warrant for the residence. On December 18, officers executed the search warrant.
During the course of the investigation, officers found multiple baggies of a brown substance consistent with heroin, according to the criminal complaint. They also found multiple digital scales and a baggie containing a white substance.
The criminal complaint further states the officers discovered that another male was living in a camper on the property. Interviews with multiple individuals involved revealed that after this male individual moved in, traffic to and from the camper became heavy. One interview led to the knowledge that the male had moved into the main house when the weather began to turn cold.
According to the criminal complaint, evidence obtained during the investigation, it appears that both Angela and Craig Webster conspired with the male individual to deliver or possess with intent to deliver heroin in an on-going drug trafficking operation. The criminal complaint further states that Angela and Craig Webster disregarded the health and safety of the seven juveniles present in the home.
Fayette County Sheriff, Mike Fridley released the following statement on the department’s Facebook page regarding the arrest:
