The Greenbrier County Commission met on the morning of Tuesday, February 23, for their regularly scheduled session. During the meeting, a motion was presented requesting that Greenbrier County enter into a lease agreement with Delegate Barry Bruce for the building which currently houses his law offices on Randolph Street in Lewisburg.
Under the terms of the proposal, the building would serve as temporary office space for the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department while they await the demolition of their current offices, and the construction of a new facility.
“The current location for the Sheriff’s office will be demolished in the coming months,” said Commissioner Tammy Shifflett Tincher “The Sheriff’s office will be utilizing Barry Bruce’s office across the street for the time being.”
The motion to enter into a lease agreement with Bruce was passed unanimously.
Due to the project being in its earliest stages of development, details are sparse at this time. And as Bruce is currently in Charleston participating in the legislative session in the House of Delegates, he was not immediately available for comment.
The West Virginia Daily News will provide updates regarding the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s office project as additional details are made available.
