With an infection rate of 7.01% and percent positive of 1.38%, Greenbrier County has been designated as green on the DHHR daily color-coded County Alert System map for the eighth-consecutive day. County health officials performed 233 laboratory COVID-19 tests on Friday, February 19, yielding a daily positivity-rate of 0.00%. The county’s seven-day testing average is 177-residents per day, and 238 cases of the virus are reported as currently being active.
On Saturday, February 20, Greenbrier County school officials posted the following message to social media:
“Today’s WVDHHR County Alert Map designates Greenbrier County in the green category. Plan A implementation will continue this week.
Elementary students will attend five-days/week (PreK = four-days/week) with a 90-minute early release each day.
Middle and high school students will attend at 50% capacity / 90-minute early release / Group A & B weekly schedule alternating attendance each Wednesday. This week (2/22), Group B attends Tuesday (February 23), Wednesday (February 24) and Friday (February 26) and Group A attends Monday (February 22) and Thursday (February 25). Groups A & B will rotate Wednesday attendance each week.
Remote students will continue to learn remotely. Virtual students will continue to learn virtually.”
Meal distribution will continue this week. Five-day meal boxes will be available for pick-ip by students enrolled full-time in virtual and remote learning on Wednesday, February 24 at the designated secondary-school.
