Family Refuge Center (FRC) has announced that they have received a $10,000 grant from The Louise R. Lester Foundation.
This foundation seeks to affect positive change in the communities and lives of the people who are served through their philanthropic support and to build effective relationships with grantees through close communication and a willingness to understand the challenges they face.
Family Refuge Center is a community based, non-profit organization committed to ending physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. FRC serves victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, elder abuse and human trafficking in Greenbrier, Mercer, Monroe, and Pocahontas Counties.
Services include, but are not limited to, emergency shelter, 24-hour crisis hotline, court advocacy, hospital accompaniment, therapy, support group, and supervised visitation and exchanges. They also provide awareness, education, and training to youth and adults in our service area. Through direct and outreach services, FRC reached over 1,800 individuals in their service area last year.
Funds received from The Louise R. Lester Foundation will be used to support some of Family Refuge Center’s 2020-2021 general operating expenses. Family Refuge Center is thankful for the support of this generous organization. Without the support of community members and partners, this important work would not be possible.
