NICHOLS
Joe R Nichols, 87, lifelong resident of Sinks Grove, passed away November, 11 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Mr. Nichols married Patricia Ann Rose in 1959, and together they owned and operated a dairy farm that had been in the Nichols family for many years. Later, he worked for Union Concrete until he retired. In 2015, he moved to Elkins and then Morgantown to be closer to family. Joe proudly served in the US Army from 1954-1956. Mr. Nichols was the son of the late Alexander Clifford Nichols, Sr. and Alice Eades Nichols.
Joe is survived by two daughters, Ann Nichols Grey (Tim) of Morgantown and Joyce Rhonda Nichols Schnese (Tad) of Anchorage, AK; two sons, Darrell of Fairlea and Michael (Katrina White) of Eagle River, AK; grandsons, Derek Snyder and Joseph and John Ives; and granddaughter, Olivia Nichols; half brothers, Charles (Pete) Nichols, James Larry Nichols, Sr., Douglas (Johnny) Nichols, and Harold Wayne Nichols.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia and a son, Joe Rhondal Nichols II; brothers, Alexander C Nichols Jr. and Richard L Nichols; sisters, Lucille Craig, Marjorie Skidmore, Pauline Wilkerson, and Veva Helms.
Funeral will be Sunday, November 15, at Wallace and Wallace Chapel at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Eugene Fullen officiating. Interment with VFW military honors will follow at Lebanon Cemetery in Pickaway.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 14, at Wallace and Wallace in Lewisburg, and friends may call from 6-8 p.m.
